Why I am a student in the RTF 305 class

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a film director.  Just that play on Ray Liotta's opening narration from Goodfellas should show how enthusiastic I am about the medium of film.  My name is Mark Wanner, and my enthusiasm for the moving picture started when I first saw the movie Titanic.  I was captivated by that motion picture and knew that my calling was to film my vision and have it displayed on screen (making it accesible to others, of course).  Therefore, I decided to come up here, to the University of Texas at Austin, to broaden my knowledge of film and to pursue a career in it.  Although I have not been accepted into the College of Communications yet, I know that I should get started immediately on studying film.  That is why I am in the RTF 305 course and why I intend to do well in it.  I am hoping to learn more about how the media of radio, television, and film affect the world and its inhabitants.  These ways of presenting information are active nonstop in this world and so it will be interesting to see how they have changed throughout the years and how their uses are ever expanding.  I am very grateful that I managed to get a spot in this class and I am very excited to see what i will learn from it this year.

And, here is a link to my favorite blog: that of Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
